Description
Bolga Kiss Kass Shaker
Generally played in pairs, these uplifting, vibrant coloured hand-made wicker shakers are a fun addition to any percussion tool kit.
Kiss Kass (also traditionally known as Caxixi – Ca-she-she) produce a range of sounds depending on how they’re played.
Kiss Kass are hand woven from elephant grass otherwise known as Veta Vera grass,
harvested from rich flood plains in northern Ghana,
filled with stones/seeds and enclosed with a gourd base.
The technique used to weave the shaker is the same as the famous Bolga baskets.
these hand percussion instruments are traditionally played along side drummers and were thought to ward off evil spirits.
Vibrant, fun shakers are great all-round percussion which produce a range of sounds depending on how they’re played.
A great percussion instrument for the little aspiring musician or makes a lovely decor piece in the home.
Please note: Please note that as these are handmade no two Kiss Kass shakers are identical.
